The Nursery:
Our nursery is located in the undercroft. Our very wonderful supervisor
Sonia is available for every Sunday 10:00 a.m. service. All children,
preschool or younger, are welcome in the nursery. We can always use
nursery helpers! Please let the office know if you are interested in playing with the
children during the 10:00 a.m. service. The nursery is open at other times
when scheduled, too--usually on Wednesday evenings for the Wednesday
programs.
- Godly Play:
Better than Sunday School! Godly Play starts in September each year
and runs through May. Children are divided into two age
groups - Pre-school through 1st grade and 2nd through 3rd grade. Developed by Father Jerome Barryman, the
Godly Play stories and curriculum is Episcopal based with a teaching style
based on the Montessori learning method.
- Club 45:
For 4th and 5th Graders, meets Sunday at 9.45 a.m.
- First
Communion: First communion classes
are usually help during the season of Lent. Class times and dates are
announced in February of each year. Children receiving for the first time
usually do so on Mother's Day.
- First Sundays: First Sundays are the first Sunday of each
month when the regular formation activities are shortened and the youth and
children have a more visible role in all aspects of the liturgy beyond
serving at the altar, as lectors, ushers and Eucharistic Ministers!
While First Sundays are special, at Christ Church our children and youth participate in every liturgy as
full-members of the church.
